For a long time now, pickup trucks have remained largely the same – the sole exception being the performance of the engine. And while GMC’s new Sierra 1500 line of pickups certainly delivers under the hood, they’ve also paid special attention to another oft-overlooked part: the tailgate.
With the choice of dropping in a new 6.2-liter V8 powertrain mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission or a 5.2-liter V8 8-speed, this is the biggest and boldest Sierra ever. And while the engines are certainly good news, the best innovation comes in the form of the new MultiPro Tailgate – a 6-layout reconfigurable back end that lets you customize the truck to whatever you need to haul for both safety and convenience. There’s also another new optional upgrade in the form of a CarbonPro truck box – a lighter bed tail end lined with aluminum, steel, and carbon fiber. The new Sierra series of pickups will be available toward the end of this year.
